I took Skyler along with me to Petco. Love the fact dogs are welcome in the store. She enjoyed riding in the car and just laid down after a bit, she handled being in the store just fine and liked looking at the toys and live parakeets. She took two treats very politely from a lady working there and made friends with a young girl. I let the girl pet her and was holding her collar because not knowing what her response would be. No worries. Skyler crawled right into the girls lap and got loved on till I had to move along. We have only had her home three days but it seems we agree with what others who have met her have said,"she is a real sweetheart". The woman who saved her from being hit by a car at the side of the road, the shelter staff in AL, the lady who drove her part of the way up here and bathed her when arriving, the workers at the daycare she stayed at for six days before coming home to us. We all agree she is a doll. One of our neighbors even thought we should call...

A new foster has arrived. Brought her here on National Dog Day August 26th. Skyler, or Sky as I will probably just say has a mellow type personality(for now), had some pups recently and nursed them it appears but now is spayed. Her coat a bit sparse but will fill in. She had no issue with meeting my three dogs or those we saw at the vet. She saw a cat walk past her about a foot away at the vets and did not react either. Friendly towards men and women. She enjoys sniffing around our fenced in yard, rode very nice and quiet in the car both crated the safe way in the back and also sitting on the passenger seat which while fun could be not so safe. I think she will be a joy to foster until she finds that forever family. She is checking out the yard. Her I am scared of that camera look. Her tail is not curled under, she basically has a mini nub.

So the blog on Roxie sort of just stopped. No worries she found a home that suited her just fine. A perfect fit with people who were not going to stress about possible future health issues. One day at a time and enjoy each one as it comes. So who were those folks? My husband and myself! They call that foster failure. Oh well, who could resist Miss Roxie. Need a little hair trimmed from my eyes here

Here she is with her summer cut, bring that hot weather on. I am not sure I prefer her this short(my neighbor says she is much cuter this way). I did ask our groomer to do it because it is easier upkeep. Notice my fancy tail everyone. And the fact I am only 12.5 pounds now! She is a dusty black color. So proud of her new haircut. ----------Perfect little sweetie-pie----------- See I do NOT have a Shih tzu nose.

WOW, a hot 85 degrees out today. One would think this Alabama transplant would enjoy it. Do not think so. With her thick, black fur coat she was hot! She laid in the shade on the cooler cement "frogger style". I have heard that is a sign a dogs hips are good. If that is true hers are great. Roxie has a date next Friday with our groomer friend Heidi. Think she will get a summer cut. Roxie laying like a frog

How could I have forgot to post and brag? Roxie is now at 13.2 pounds. That is a loss of two pounds, on her size frame that is great! Will she drop a little more yet now that it is summer, maybe. The Thyro Tabs are working. With getting a two month supply our vet charges $28.20. $14.10 a month is not too bad at all. Here she is laying next to our male dog. A dog we adopted through Fluffy Dog Rescue.

ONE CUTIE PIE DOG Well here it is April already. So we have got to enjoy our time with Roxie for all four seasons since she came to us as a foster in August. She certainly has a prettier coat of hair than when she arrived. Now her tail is a plume instead of a bald thing that looked like it belonged on a rat. At first she could only walk a very short way and so S L O W. Now we go around our block at a normal speed. We have experienced these changes as she has become a healthier dog. She is still a super duper cuddle bug. Can you tell I kind of love her.
