NICE CHAIR BUT I LIKE TO SIT ON A COZY LAP  BETTER, HOW ABOUT YOURS?

A Christmas gift to myself. Doggie flannel sheets. Roxie is showing herself off on them. She is such a cute, soft, non-shedding fluffy dog. A relative who has had Pugs agreed with me that her body shape is Pug-like. The nose is pointy but she still does some snorty sounds like a Pug. So the fluffy part? Hmm, maybe Pomeranian? Just guessing. Whatever she is it is sweet and loyal and oh so snuggly. We do LOVE her lots over here and are so glad to be able to spend time with her as our little guest.

Things continue to go very well with Roxie at our house. Her low energy ways are going to be as perfect a fit for someone out there as they are for us. These two pictures were taken without these two sleepy heads waking up. Snooze buddies for sure!

ROXIE got to meet with Santa Claus today. She was EXCELLENT waiting for her turn and sitting on Santa's lap while at Pet Supplies Plus in Greenfield. Hope she gets what she is wishing for.

Roxie has been a part of our family since 8/23/15. So over three months now here as a foster. My husband calls her Baby Bear. Just look at this fuzzy gal and you can see why. Our blog listings go back to August so if you have an interest in this low energy cuddle bug please go back and read to become acquainted with her.  Waiting for my new home. Will I get one before Christmas?

We knew it would happen... SNOW has come to Wisconsin. Just as I expected Roxie was not amused. She was not about to get her belly all cold and wet romping in that ridiculous stuff!  I think her outside time will be minimal this winter. We may need to carry her out as she is stubborn when she does not want to do something. To me that is just another of the quirks that make her so endearing. A quick potty on a shoveled path and let me in! We will have to get her walking on the treadmill so her exercise routine keeps up. Otherwise she does like to chase her toys, shake them up, and bring them back. That is good and easy exercise too. Not to sure about this cold stuff as she just left her warm bed and blankets. Here is our sweetie in her winter coat. I got her a pink sweater also. A girl needs more than one outfit. She still has hope a wonderful couple that drive down to Florida every winter is looking for her. Sunshine and warm temps sound real good. She will certainly Here

ROXIE is just the best snuggle-bug. I have been fighting a migraine for a few days. Laid down with my little foster buddy on one side and our Patton on the other. Nothing like a nap between a warm cuddly dog sandwich to perk you up a bit.   So if you want a couch companion for the upcoming cold weather, we have that one with us. Sweetest low key dog. Will hate to see her leave us. Side view as I do not want to look at the camera These are my 2 snuggle buddies
Well Roxie got to see the Cardiologist. Just have to say, this is why a fee is charged for all the dogs. Some need minimal vetting and others have costs that add up. Like in this case just to be clear on what her murmur meant.  It is my interpretation of the vet report that at this point things really are not a worry. Lori Marchek who you will send your application into has the full report and spoke to the vet, I did not.   I do have a copy of vet paperwork. First thing it says is-Roxie was a very good patient today. Well of course, she is a doll. Yes grade 3-4 out of 6 murmur. Mitral valve thickening, moderate regurgitation. Normal heart size, no hypertension. LOW near term risk of cardiac complications. No medications. Best to recheck yearly with echo-cardiogram or chest x-ray . This of course would be the adopters( with their vets input) decision.  So that is, maybe she ain't quite perfect but hey how many of us are?

Have to share a few more pictures of ROXIE/ROXANNE. She has been at our home for two months and is totally settled in. I will miss her lots when she moves along but will be happy that there is someone else out there to give her a safe place to live with lots of attention and love. She is asking for a comfy dog bed, lots of toys and some stuff to chew too. Have to keep those teeth happy. She likes shopping and visiting Showing off my tie from Heidi the groomer. NO I will not look at the camera, stubborn girl. Sad puppy dog eyes. I made her sit by this feather boa. She likes hanging out on the couch with us. at Petco so will go along with you if you want. She co-exists with my three dogs but they do not play. Even Patton who is usually flirty with the females does not show off for her. Why? Not sure.  Her appointment with the vet cardiologist is on Monday 10/26. So soon we will know what her heart murmur means.  I have said before how perfect she is. Just so yo

Two posts in a day? Sure, just wanted to show who likes to wait with our crew for a treat.

Roxie or Roxanne? I usually go with the second, it just fits her better. I just love this little girl. If I take her out and about with me she is a charmer. Likes everyone we meet.  Today I took her for a groom with Heidi from PAC Grooming in Hartland,(414-531-3174 if you are looking for a groomer). She did just great I was told, even with her nails. I have to get used to the short look but her hair will grow out again if you prefer it longer. My husband says he liked her mop top. She met and hung out with two other dogs while there and was fine with them. We came home and she was so tired a nap was in order. Patton (a Fluffy Dog alumni) laid down with her. Guess he likes her new look and just bathed smell. Heidi uses some essential oil blends, smells good. Last weekend we went to watch a friend run her dogs in a lure coursing trial. Again Roxie was little Miss Sociable. Barked a bit at first but the dogs there were all ramped up getting ready to run. She said hi to a few dogs and

Someone has got her "spunk" going once again. Roxie is quite the little character these days. Here she is enjoying a fleece toy that was made and donated to our Fluffy Dog rescue dogs. Shaking and growling in play. You go girl!
Just need to brag...tonight Roxie had a first. She made it the entire way around the block! Such a change in just about a month. So proud of her.

Things are going well with our little Miss Roxie. She started getting more pep after finishing up with  her   antibiotics  and ditching her  congestion . She actually runs a little now. It may not be fast but she is going. She follows us around and likes to get a boost up so she can be on the couch or chair with one of us. We found she does bark infrequently too. A funny little arff, arff. We had plans twice this month and needed to kennel her while we were away. She did just fine and Lisa Brewer and the ladies that work at Tail Waggin Doggie Daycare said she was adorable. Lisa helps out our rescue dogs  at her place in Hartland, thanks Lisa. It is good to know Roxie is adaptable to change. She  likes meeting new  people and dogs. One night recently during our walk she said hi to a 2 year old boy and later an 96 year old woman. How is that for an age difference? People have said " you guys will keep this one." No we can't. I would but cannot afford to care for fou

This is how we watched the Packers beat the Bears. Quite the lazy crew. My husband and myself too. Might be hard to see Roxie as she is small and black but she is there. She enjoys her cuddle and tummy rubbing time alot. She lays there and snores. Her loud breathing and body shape makes me think she is part Pug. I googled Pug/Maltese mix and some look like her. DNA test may say for sure but I as the foster will probably not pay to have one done. I got up to take the picture. Here are Roxie and two of my dogs. Both Birdie and Patton were adopted through Fluffy Dog Rescue. I like men and women, why discriminate? A little to the right please, ah yes that is the spot. Shameless lazy dogs.

Precious little face. Roxie after a walk all tired out. Exercise is hard work people give me a break! We are at 14.4 pounds vs the 15.2 pounds she came to us at.

Well our "Chunky Monkey" is starting to feel better. Showing us she can be a "Spunky Monkey" too. She is wanting to join in with our dogs for a short walk but does tire easily yet.  I want her health perfect now but realize we need some patience. She is such a cute little gal with a sweet personality. Soft fur that does not leave a trace on my clothes, I like that. She likes to get into the car for a ride and sat up on my lap to watch out the window as my husband drove. Here are a couple pictures.

***ROXIE***                                                                9/2/2015 She is such a little sweetie. Just an easy dog to have around the house. No potties in the house, no chewing up anything, not even a single bark yet. Is she a stuffed dog or a real one?  I hate to post this as the real Roxie. She still has her doggie cold and may not be her true self yet. I think it is safe to say her picture would come up if you googled "canine couch potato".  She acts like a tester for all of our doggie beds. We have not got much change in her weight yet. Started at 15.2 and now 14.6 ten days later. At least headed in the right direction. She is learning it does not pay to beg while we eat.She is a little more active and perks up when it is walk time. She has this cute little wiggle as we head up half a block and back for now. Her hair is so soft and will need a grooming from time to time. That means low/maybe no shed so a fair trade off. Breed is always a gue

Even though Miss Roxie's personality is coming through, at this time this is still a favorite activity. Well if we can call it an activity. She recently started on antibiotics to beat her "cold" so shortly may gain some more spunk. I know careful what we wish for.  Snoozing on my donated bed, thanks generous person. If you do not stop taking my picture I am going to stick my tongue out at you.OK, I warned you.

Button nose, cute! Well hello, I love treats. They left her head mostly untrimmed. Miss Moptop Best shot of her splashes of white on chin and chest. Too bad it is blurry.     The many looks of ROXIE.She looks different depending on how she holds her ears. She perked up quite a bit after feeling so tired with a upper respiratory issue the first few days. Now she follows us around the house. She had her matted fur shaved off before coming to WI. With this cold weather she needed a coat! I am guessing she may not love our winters, but who knows. She has been a trooper and let me bath her, Dremel her nails, clean her ears daily. She knows to potty outside. Pees on grass but has the weird habit of pooping on our cement patio. That should be easy to change.

Roxie has arrived. Sweet face This little one has been through alot I guess. Ended up in a shelter after losing her home and the love of her owner as they recently died. She has a great personality and zeros right into the softest dog bed so was cared for at one time. Maybe her care went downhill as her person could no longer keep up with her because of their failing health? Grooming needs not kept up with and well, overfed some crummy food. Sad eyes, wonder what she is thinking?  Ears a mess. She is what we are lovingly referring to as a 'pudgesickle' currently. Cannot even walk or run as she should. One step is too much to hop up.  She will soon enough though as we went through this with an earlier foster Alberta. She is now our own dog and we call her Birdie.  My husband and Roxie hit it off right away. Our three dogs also each gave their tail wagging seal of approval. I know how to pick the sweetest ones. And Brian said no more foster dogs for awhile, ha she wo

What do smeared glasses and Lola have to do with each other? Well she has decided to become a kissy girl. She was giving the occasional light little nose lick but now she wants to plant juicy wet ones on us!  She is soon to share those kisses with her new people Sue and John. That is if they decide to take her home after meeting her. How could they resist, though the eyebrows of their friends and family may raise when they mention she has mange. It is getting better and in no time she should have no more trace of her crummy past. Enjoy a few (maybe last) pictures. Ignore those green eyes, just me not knowing how to fix that on the camera. Treat, did you say treat lady? Showing off my pretty hair color. Sitting pretty. I am good at that! This is me waiting for my meal, I inhale it like a vacuum cleaner, yummy stuff.
